If you want LeBron James in a 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball team break, you claim the Lakers spot. Ten of his rows are hits, and every one of them prints Los Angeles Lakers. Jaylen Brown rides the Celtics spot, with 7 hits. Both played their first games for Philadelphia on Tuesday night, and the 76ers beat the champion Knicks 106–100 on ring night at Madison Square Garden. LeBron had 14 points and 9 rebounds. Brown had 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. "I like the way we played. I think we played exceptionally well, especially defensively," James said, per NBA.com. "Good win to start the season." The swap is in the box score. It isn't on the checklist yet. The Philly spot does hold Paul George, though, and George scored 38 for Boston on the same day.

Why the spots

Team spots follow the club printed on the card, and Topps's official checklist prints the old rosters. All 29 LeBron rows print Los Angeles Lakers. All 26 Jaylen Brown rows print Boston Celtics. All 7 Paul George rows print Philadelphia 76ers. That means last night's Sixers headliners land in the Lakers and Celtics spots, and Boston's 38-point debut lands in the Philly spot.

Topps's own product copy promises a Sixers LeBron, but it isn't on the checklist. The checklist prints every LeBron row as a Laker.

If you want the Sixers spot for the players who won last night, the printed-Philly hits are Tyrese Maxey (6), VJ Edgecombe (4) and Joel Embiid (3). The spot also carries Labaron Philon Jr., whom Topps prints as "Rookie," across autos, relics and a Golden Mirror row. George adds exactly one hit to that spot: Golden Mirror I #32, printed as a 76er. He has no auto and no relic.

That's LeBron 10, Brown 7, George 1. Their other rows are base, inserts and variations, which show on the team page but don't count as hits. For scale on CSL's board: the Celtics spot shows 58 hits and the Lakers 54, and each of those counts includes a dual-player auto shared with another name; the Knicks show 54, and the 76ers and Pistons 31 each.

Context under the feel (receipted only)

Brown played his first game since being acquired from Boston, per AP. Philadelphia signed LeBron after he decided to leave the Lakers, AP reported. Maxey led the Sixers with 28, and Embiid added 13 points and 11 rebounds. At the pregame ceremony where the Knicks raised their championship banner, Jalen Brunson told the crowd: "The joy that this city had this summer, we would love to replicate that again."

In Detroit that afternoon, George scored 38 in his first game for the Celtics. CBS Sports called it a new record for points in a Celtics debut. Boston led by as many as 22 and still lost 121–113 to the Pistons.
